Looking good

I ordered the slate tile and bamboo for the floors today. What a boon to the world economy.
Tonight there will be cutting and stitching going on, so watch this space for "bright". I have all intentions of cutting and piecing a quilt so that I can hand quilt it starting on Sunday. I hope it will look as good as my mind's eye imagines it to be. I am using a white fabric with rainbow dragonflies, 3 blacks with bright gerbera daisies, varying sizes, some purples and a fantabulous orange.

I hope your house is coming along with no major headaches. Have you used bamboo flooring before? Is it as soft as I've heard? My brother-in-law took all the hardwood (it was too damaged) out of his house and put in bamboo and found it very soft, compared to oak. Is there different types of bamboo? I can't wait to see pictures of your completed house. Very nice!

  4. Bamboo - I have heard both that it was as hard as oak and that it was a bit softer than oak. We have oak floors now.
The choice for bamboo is because it is more eco-friendly to use. There are some differences. The product that I chose has the pieces of banboo are laminated together horizontally, the narrow sides edges are the floor face and the width of the bamboo is the thickness, I think it is about 3/4" thick.

I can post the materials another time.
